UPCOMING EVENT - LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER!:

The Apollo Alliance, S.C.O.P.E. in Los Angeles, and Community Labor
United (CLU) in Boston invite you to participate in a webinar,
entitled:

Grassroots Green Organizing: Front Line Stories of Success in
Building the Clean Energy Economy

All across America, the new clean energy economy is growing. However,
key questions remain about whether this new economy will achieve its
potential in creating good jobs, promote equity, and serve our
communities as well as our environment. Two Apollo Alliance
Affiliates have waged successful, community- and grassroots-based
campaigns over the last year to ensure that these goals are met within
their cities. In Los Angeles, a long-term grassroots campaign
resulted in the City of Los Angeles passing the Los Angeles Green
Retrofit Ordinance, an innovative program aimed at tying the City's
retrofit of public building with creating good jobs, local hiring, and
achieving equity goals. In Massachusetts, another community-centered
campaign achieved a notable victory when a $1.4 billion state program
committed itself to quality jobs, local hiring, and working closely
with community based organizations in its energy efficiency retrofit
work. In this webinar, leaders from those campaigns will share their
story, key lessons learned, and what next steps they are taking in
their important work.
