Not really, then you just have to make the cloze section longer to
encompass everything you want to hide. If you like sister cards for
vocabulary use, I don't see why you don't like them for cloze cards, but
you're of course entitled to your own opinion :-)

Not sure I understand, there is no hidden button to create sister cards
in Cloze. As you said, they are created automatically whenever you
insert [...]. If you don't want extra clozes, just don't insert extra
[...]'s.

Hope this helps,

Peter

I should have said that Sister cards are sometimes created "Unexpectedly"
instead of "Automatically".
Some card Types have button to create a Sister card, the Cloze type does not.
Sisters sometimes appeared like Ghosts with no appearant reason.
But, one 'stumble-upon ..." at a time, I'm discovering the rules. ( No
offense, Peter; I know you have no man power to spare; but you can create a
Wiki-mnemosyne to enlist volunteers. )
My latest "Stumble-upon" was your note in a forum: "Sister will be created
'tomorrow' (BTW , I wish the Automatic Sisters were created 2 weeks or so after
the Main card; why? bcs they :
1. interfere with learning
2. distort the SRS schedule
... bcs they are PROMPTS, hints for each other (during the Learning phase,
when they are scheduled too 'close' to each other ).

Thank you for the ALWAYS timely responses.
PS. One 'drawback' of your expeditious responses - the Volunteers don't have a
chance :-) to answer the questions.

I'm not sure I understand; do you mean they show up in the scheduling oddly?

I have to admit that I find this extreme sensitivity to timing somewhat curious.  Answer the question when it comes up, and if it's too early, answer it a 5 and it won't show up so regularly.  If it's too late, answer 1 or 2, and it comes up more often.  Even if the initial schedule is "wrong" in some way, it evens itself out over time.   SRS is meant to enhance learning, not make it 100% optimal.   That's the point of being ABLE to rate the answer at all.

What exactly do you mean? None of the card types have such a button.

What all card types do have, is a button to preview the cards that will
be generated from the data in the card, but they will be created anyhow,
whether or not you pressed that button. In some cases/card types only 1
card will be created, in other cases more than 1.

As for scheduling of sister cards, sister cards which have been graded 2
or more will never be scheduled on the same day.

During the learning phase (i.e. grade 0 or 1), if you have enough
unlearned cards, you will only see the second sister card after the
first has been learned (i.e. graded 2 or higher). This means e.g. that
once you indicated that you know the card casa --> house, you will start
working on house-->casa

Hope this helps,

Peter
