Hey,

I installed Mnemosyne 2.0 on ubuntu. However, I am facing two problems:

1- I can not see the tool bar of the software (file, cards, setting, help) that Windows version has!! Is that still not implemented on linux or did I miss some libraries before installing Mnemosyne?

2- I was advised from g+ to copy the db file from Windows version to /local/share/mnemosyne on ubuntu. Since this path can not be found on ubuntu, where exactly do I have to copy the db file in order to make it visible to the program?

Srtange, perhaps there is indeed something broken about your Qt
install. If you start Mnemosyne from a command prompt, do you get any
messages there?

The unix data dir is /home/bwadji/.local/share/mnemosyne , so it's a
directory inside your home dir and starts with a dot.

Alternatively, you can also make the Windows machine a sync server,
the unix machine a client, and use Mnemosyne's built-in sync protocol.

Good luck!

Ubuntu 12.4 + uses Unity 2d and Unity 3d - both of which have a global menu that looks like the menu bar on a Macintosh. Roll your mouse all the way to the top of desktop and the menu will appear. Look up "global menu" and "unity" for more information.

There is not yet a bundled installer for Ubuntu, but first install all
the dependencies:

sudo apt-get install python-cherrypy3 python-apsw python-setuptools
python-virtualenv python-qt4-dev python-sip4 python-sip4-dev
pyqt4-dev-tools qt4-designer libqt4-sql python-qt4-sql libqt4-sql-sqlite
python-matplotlib python-qt4-phonon python-sphinx

Then do 'sudo python setup.py install' from inside the mnemosyne source
directory.

Good luck!

Peter
