Importing into Language Cards

I exported a tab delimited OpenOffice spreadsheet file.  It had columns for all the field of the language card. The database created only had question-answer pair. Can I change the card type to "language card" (with pronunciation field) ?  What is the correct way to do this?

You need to import it as a txt file where there is one tab between each field and one card per line, the file needs to hav UTF-8 encoding.

---------  Vit:   Keep in mind the following before you convert to Vocabulary cards:
1. All fields in Voc card are very narrow - I found it very inconvenient.
2. The Audio will sound for Both sides; it will play after u hit "Show Answer'.
3.You can add Audio to Front-Back cards. If u add audio on both sides, they will not play together (during Review); but if u leave the card open and go to Browser and come back, both audio will have fun playing together :-), just once.
  Experiment with Front-Back cards - see if it'd ok with you.
4.Convert one card to Vocabulary and see the action and the layout.
5.If u convert to Voc type and later decide to go back to Front-Back Type, you will loose text in NOTE field - unless you move it to Front or back, manualy, on each card.

   If u decide to "Change Type", u can do  it en masse - in the Browser.   Just activate only cards u want to convert { they must be  of SAME type.   You will see the menu -- to re-assign fields.  Do not rush.
