The Institute of Technology at the University of Washington Tacoma is
seeking applications for one full-time Lecturer position and multiple
tenure-track Assistant Professor positions for the Computer Science
program.

Situated in beautiful western Washington and only 30 miles from Seattle
and the high-tech industry to the east, Tacoma overlooks the Puget Sound
and is enlivened by vistas of the Cascade and Olympic mountains. Tacoma is
a diverse and lively city with a thriving port, and the Tacoma campus of
UW is located in the heart of downtown, a major contributor to the city's
recent renaissance.

Full-time Lecturer position, Computer Science
=============================================
The Lecturer position is full-time with a nine-month service period,
beginning September 2018. A Ph.D. or Masters (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Science or related field is required. We seek candidates with
demonstrated excellence in teaching, who are familiar with industry
practices, and who have experience working with students and faculty from
diverse backgrounds. The Institute offers both a B.S. and a B.A. in
Computer Science & Systems, a M.S. in Computer Science & Systems, as well
as B.S. degrees in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and
Information Technology. We are particularly interested in hiring
candidates with evidence of effectiveness in teaching courses in one or
more of the following areas: introductory programming courses; software
engineering; computer architecture; operating systems; and computer
ethics. Highly qualified applicants in all areas of Computer Science will
be considered.

Multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor positions, Computer Science

These tenure-track Assistant Professor positions are full-time positions
with a nine-month service period, beginning September 2018. A Ph.D. (or
foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field is required. We
look for candidates with demonstrated skill in teaching, who can pursue a
vigorous research agenda and are familiar with industry practices. We are
particularly interested in hiring candidates with evidence of
effectiveness in teaching courses in one or more of the following areas:
introductory programming courses; software engineering; computer
architecture; operating systems; and computer ethics. Highly qualified
applicants in all areas of computer science will be considered.
