We are inviting applications for an exciting PhD project based in the Lancaster Medical School, on identifying markers for long-term survival after coronary artery bypass graft surgery using machine learning. The research is a collaboration with the Lancashire Cardiac Centre at the Blackpool and Victoria Hospital, and proposes to analyse observational data to identify patient groups with different risk profiles, which may allow for the identification of groups that would benefit from alternative treatments.

This is a faculty-funded three-year PhD project that is open to European and UK applicants. The successful student will join the Centre of Health Informatics, Statistics and Computation, a vibrant group of researchers into epidemiology, statistics and health informatics. Deadline for applications is 28th February.
