Japanese principal investigator: Distinguished Professor Makoto Yokoo (Kyushu University)
Israeli principal investigator: Professor Sarit Kraus (Bar-Ilan University)

*Resilient human-in-the-loop multiagent optimization Project:
This project aims to establish resilient, human-in-the-loop multiagent optimization technologies where the objective function in an optimization roblem is not given beforehand. We will develop core technologies including learning the preferences of the humans involved, balancing their conflicting interests, and dealing with dynamic changes.

*Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and established track record evident by publication in top quality conferences and/or journals. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is a must:game theory and economic paradigms, heuristic search and optimization, human-aware AI, machine learning applications, multiagent systems, reasoning under uncertainty, search and constraint satisfaction.

*Number of positions: 1

*Place of work: Fukuoka or Tokyo in Japan

*Salary and benefits:
Gross salary per annum (including taxes, insurances and other things) will be about JPY 4,500,000 (US$40,000). The exact amount will be decided in accordance with the employment regulations, the successful applicant's past accomplishments, etc.

*Contract period of employment:
The start date will be as early as possible after the hiring decision is made. The end date is March 31, 2018. The period can be extendable until the project finishes (March 31, 2020) depending on research performance and continuation.

*Submission:
The application process will remain open until the position is filled by a suitable candidate. Interested applicants should submit the following to Distinguished Professor Makoto Yokoo:
(1) Academic CV, including names and contact details of 2 referees.
(2) A 1-page "statement of interest", explaining the applicant's interest in the project.
(3) Five "representative papers" describing the applicant's research.

If possible, please also include a link to a website with an online version of your PhD thesis and relevant publications (e.g., your professional homepage). A confirmation will be sent when the application is received. Incomplete or generic applications will be ignored.

*Screening: The screening process consists of:
(1) the initial application review
(2) skype interviews for the applicants who make it past the initial review
