FACULTY POSITION IN AI/NLP/MACHINE LEARNING AT UC IRVINE

The Department of Computer Science at the University of California,
Irvine is seeking applications for an open faculty position from
qualified applicants in any of the following areas: artificial
intelligence, machine learning, or natural language processing. UC
Irvine has international visibility broadly in AI/ML with faculty such
as Rina Dechter, Anima Anandkumar, Pierre Baldi, Alex Ihler, and
Padhraic Smyth, as well as strong research groups in closely related
areas such as computer vision, bioinformatics, and databases. The
computer science department is colocated in the same school and
building with the Department of Statistics and the Department of
Informatics, offering a rich collaborative research environment. AI
and machine learning have high visibility on campus through a number
of different centers and institutes, including the Center for Machine
Learning and Intelligent Systems (http://cml.ics.uci.edu), the newly
formed UCI Data Science Initiative (http://datascience.uci.edu), and
the Institute for Genomics and Bioinformatics
(http://www/igb/uci.edu), providing many excellent opportunities for
collaboration with the Schools of Biological Sciences, Engineering,
Medicine, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Education.
