Research Internship opportunities at Alibaba Search

Alibaba Search Business Unit is the core team to power Taobao Search, Tmall Search and some international e-commerce site. We are looking for outstanding PhD/MS students for research internship positions, located in Hangzhou or Beijing. Research interns will be focusing on research in e-commerce search, including deep learning, machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, reinforcement learning. More specifically, state-of-the-art methods are leveraged to support query understanding, query suggestion, deep semantic matching, image-text matching, deep retrieval, relevance model, etc.

Candidates that have published in top-tier conferences or journals (e.g., SIGKDD, SIGIR, SIGKDD, WWW, WSDM, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, CVPR, ICCV, etc.) are preferred.

Requirements
 - PhD/MS candidate in computer science or relevant fields
 - Strong background in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, reinforcement learning.
 - Excellent understanding of deep learning techniques, i.e., CNN/RNN/LSTM/attention models, and their optimization methods.
 - Experience with one or more deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow and PyTorch.
 - Programming experience in Python, Java, C++, or a similar language
 - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

The internship is a minimum of 3 months. Start and end dates are flexible.
