Hi Good afternoon!

I need your help all my projects had disappeared.. for some reason I created a new GMAIL account and I think this new account replaced the old one on MIT app Inventor
so far the new gmail address appears on the top right when I log into the APP Inventor  is there any way to migrate all my projects to this new gmail address or better if I can recover all my projects to my old address

I was trying to enter my original gmail, and then my original password.but didn't work

I'm Rest assured my old account is still going to be there and my projects unharmed but  I would be grateful if you can point me to the correct person to fix this issue  or if you could assign my post to MIT for further action / attention  I really not sure if is secure to post my old address on the forum
Please help me out

Thanks

Edit: email address removed

Hi Javier

is there any way to migrate all my projects to this new gmail address or better if I can recover all my projects to my old address

Your Projects would already be under your old email address - we cannot help you on that score - if you remember your password for the old account you will then be able to access your Projects again.

So, looks like your Projects will need to be migrated to a new gmail account. Don't post your email address or anything else related to security (I have deleted the email address from your post!).

I'm going to assign your Topic to MIT. They will be in touch and tell you what to do. They might need some Project names, so they can find your App Inventor Account.

Please be patient, they are a small team and you are up against a timezone difference and the fact that it's a Sunday too.

Hi Javia

Just a thought - if you use a desktop email client like Mozilla's Thunderbird, your passwords will be stored by that software and can tell you what they are.......

Hi Javier,

If you can still log into your old Gmail account and send email from it, you can send email from both the old and new accounts confirming you own them to account-...@appinventor.mit.edu. If you can no longer log into the old account at all, we'll also need you to include in the email names of some of the projects in the account.

Regards,
Evan

Hello Preet

You have somewhat hijacked an unrelated Forum Topic :) Next time, please open your Own Topic.

Unfortunately, App Inventor does not support Android Background Services, so your App cannot continue to run when it is closed. To achieve that, you will probably need to move onto a text-based language such as Java or Kotlin and create your App within something like Android Studio.

Take a look at Android Studio, there is nothing there to be scared of :)

Hi Javier,

We did receive your request. We'll check the account and if everything looks good the projects will be migrated. You'll get an email once the process completes.

Regards,
Evan
