the Wallpaper extension only provides one method

which is identical to the activity starter solution, as mentioned by Peep here
How to create wallpapers by Peep

it's nice, that you like to provide extensions for the community, but that extension does not really provide any additional value IMHO...

if you really like to provide some additional value, then you might want to take a look at the solutions mentioned here http://stackoverflow.com/q/20053919/1545993 and provide that as extension
