View in Tamil, not in Korean!

Dear Friends:

 

When I formed this group in Google, inadvertently, my Google setting was in Korean (Google sets this automatically based on your IP address), hence the default address of our group had a Korean URL. I enquired with Google and I got the following response from them. This is essentially to set your Google homepage & group homepage in the language of 'your choice'. I am not sure whether this will change the Korean URL given by default. If you still get that, let me know...

First, you'll want to clear your cache and cookies. Please note that deleting your cookies will also remove your saved settings for other sites you've visited.

If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE), please follow these steps to clear your cache:

1. Open IE and click on the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Internet Options."
3. Click on the "General" tab if it isn't selected already.
4. Under the heading "Temporary Internet files," click "Delete Files..."
(Note that it can take up to 30 minutes for your computer to delete your
cache history.)
5. Click on "OK."

To clear your cache while using Mozilla Firefox, please follow these
steps:

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
2. Click on "Tools" > "Options" > "Privacy."
3. Click "Cache" > "Clear."
4. Select "OK" to exit.

To delete your cookies using IE, just follow these steps:

1. Select "Tools" > "Internet Options" > "General" again.
2. Under the heading "Temporary Internet files," click on "Delete
Cookies..."
3. Click "OK" for the "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files
folder?" prompt.
4. Click "OK" to exit.

If you're using Mozilla Firefox, please follow these steps to delete your
cookies:

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
2. Click on "Tools" > "Options" > "Privacy."
3. Click on "Cookies" > "Clear."
4. Select "OK" to exit.

If you need instructions for a browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, we suggest consulting your browser's online support center.

Once you've cleared your cache and cookies, you'll need to change your Google interface language. To do so, please visit the Google homepage and click on Preferences. Under the Interface Language header, select the language of your choice from the drop-down menu. Finally, click on the Save Preferences button.

Once you've changed your interface language, please close the browser window. Then, open a new browser instance and visit http://groups.google.co.kr/group/minTamil . The page should be displayed in the language you've selected; the individual messages, however, should remain in the language they were authored in.

There is yet another simple way to do this without clearing your cookies. I have attached two screen-shots - korean-1 and korean-2. Go to the groups page and click the preferences button as shown by red circle in korean-1. Then, from the drop-down box, select tamil by clicking the up arrow 15 times as shown in korean-2 and push the save button ( red circle ). Click ok if it pops up a window. Now your preferences will be set to tamil.

அது எப்படி கொரியன் வாசிக்காமலே 15வது இடுகைக்கு வந்து அது 'தமிழ்' என்று கொரியனில் எழுதியிருப்பதைக் கண்டு கொண்டீர்கள் (கூகுள் மொழிமாற்றி கொண்டா?).

 

அங்கு இருக்கும் கொரியன் 'damil go' என்கிறது. 'கோ' என்றால் மொழி (சீன, கொரிய, ஜப்பானிய மொழிகளில் இது மொழியையே குறிக்கிறது). கொரியனில் இந்த 'da' 'tha' தமிழைப் போலவே உதைக்கும். ச, ஷ, ஜ வேறுபாட்டுப் பலுப்பலும் உதைக்கும். 'ல' 'ர' என்பதற்கு ஒரே வரிக்குறியீடுதான் அங்கே!  எப்போது தேர்தல் என்று கேட்டுவிடாதீர்கள் (election) :-)

கொரிய மொழியின் எழுத்துரு (லிபி) தமிழ் நெடுங்கணக்கை ஒத்தது. எளிதாகக்
கற்றுக்கொள்ளக் கூடியது. தமிழையும் விட எளிது. இந்த வசதி சீன அடுக்குமுறை

ஆம்! வாசித்துப் பழக வேண்டும். சீன அடுக்கு முறையில் இது இன்னும் எளிது.
க்+அ = க என்று எழுதுகிறோம். அங்கு க்-அ போட்டு விட்டு க என்பார்கள் (இது
மேலடுக்கு). கீழடுக்கில் இது போன்ற உயிர்மெய் சேர்தல் வரும்.
