Anyone have a good method for removeing swingarm bushings from a 73 cb350?

I use an arbor press, but before I had that, I drove them out by clamping it in a bench vice and using an appropriate sized socket & hammer. The trick was, getting the new ones in (undeformed) with that method.

Only problem is there are four and to drive one side out you have to get the other side bushing out first.

You cut the flange off the outer ones and drive them all the way threw.

As I remember once the center collar is removed there is a space between the bushings so you can punch on them from the inside. They are just plastic so it's not too hard. We also used to cut a groove on the inside with a hack saw blade to release the tension of the press fit. Good techs could replace them without removing the swingarm from the frame because the side plates bolted on. Have fun.

If they're brass make sure they have enough wear to make replacing them worthwhile. You can make a tool out of a simple piece of flat steel. You will make a rectangle. the length will fit the ID of the swingarm. The width the ID of the bushing. The idea is to make a piece that will drop between the bushings that can then be turned sideways to contact the inner edge of the bushing. Now you have something you can punch on that should drive the bushing out. Some heat from a hot air gun on the outside should help. Let us know what works.

I finally got time to work on it. I just took a drift in the gap between the bushings oiled it up with pb blaster and rap around the bushing and they popped out quickly. And their not brass their steel.I can't even get some scrap brass out of it.
