Saturday 10/21 the BUILD program is holding an indoor, evening market for vintage motorcycle parts & gear with refreshments, food & music.

We will have booths available for vendors, and/or you can donate spare parts to BUILD to sell. We will do a collection day (TBD) at Fuel Cafe 5th St. before the event.
Booths for vendors will be $50 (all proceeds to Build Milwaukee). If you would like a booth send payment via Paypal to buildm...@gmail.com (add a note of business or your name & email), or send check to:
payable to: BUILD Moto
933 N 70th St
Wauwatosa WI 53213

Your asking $50 American dollars for a Booth .?!   Are you expecting a massive turnout for this event to merit that kind of fee?

It is a fundraiser for BUILD. Vendors would be supporting the program. We don't want to have to manage a consignment type setup to get some $ from vendors so just doing a flat fee.

For what it is worth, I realize this is a great program and cause, as well as a great fundraising idea.  However, keep in mind that the fall Walneck's Woodstock swap meet is the weekend before this, and he only charges $40 for a vendor space with a (usually) large turn-out for the fall meet.

Unfortunately, I will be in Daytona that weekend.

Of course I'm a cheap bastard.  That this is a fundraiser is understood.  I don't have any shit to sell and am not even going to be in town for the Build event.  But with Buzz's meet the weekend before, I'm just adding a detail to Godfrey's concern.

Thanks for the input. I know also that some swap meets are free - they just want booths. Walneck's is for profit. Could we drop to like $25 - its first time, don't know turnout or response - sales - for vendors. Sure. But again its a donation (we are 501c3 and can give a donation receipt for taxes).  At the Rumble we charge $75 (even first year), craft fairs usually start at $200 (and sometimes add % of sales).

I've asked for help planning and - crickets - so its up to me to set, I chose $50.

Want more people showing up for more profit margin, help us promote.

How about this - sliding scale. Pay what you want up front - give us something as a deposit. If you do well, up to you if you want to throw more in after.

OK final decision. $25 donation deposit, again we welcome further donations after if you do well and want to add on.

Sounds more than reasonable.  The sliding scale, end of the day contribution is a great idea!  I will be in Daytona that weekend, but will send along a contribution instead.
Thanks for setting this up!  You are definitely the organizer extraordinaire!

Awesome idea, where is the market being held? Fuel on 5th?

I can definitely donate some choice crap. I don't have crap volume to justify a booth, but $50 might not be too out of line when you consider that you're getting a different clientele than usually comes to Woodstock, etc.

I don't know of any swap meets that get you up close to the walker's point yuppie crowd, that will drop $3k on a CB350 just to display it in their loft or whatever it is that people do these days.

Thanks!

It will be at the Brix building next to Iron Horse Hotel (so up the street from new Fuel) - they are letting us use first floor vacant retail space.
Fuel family will be represented somehow for food (probably BelAir), bevs from Iron Horse Hotel. I am whipping up a VinMoto-inspired playlist of current and older artists to play background music.

The price is fine, I'm fine with fee for space and donation.

Question: what are the limits to bring to an indoors retail space swap meet? I could bring a really sweet early 1960's yama that currently has oil and gas in it? I'm assuming full bikes need to be prepped for indoor display/sales? Also, are tarps in the floor recommended? Thanks for the input, mad.dan

Yes you can bring bike(s). Like 1-2 per vendor to start with, will see what numbers of signups look like and if more could be brought will let people know.
Should be prepped for indoor sales, we could also have some outside if weather is decent.

We will provide some cardboard and/or carpeting for under bikes brought inside, if you have your own solution for under bike appreciated if you bring.

Hey, Kevin,
Sorry if I missed it in the e-mail string, but what is the admission charge for a non-vendor, spectator/buyer kinda person?
