I'm just becoming familiar with the myriad of trees and shrubs on the OSU campus. One I easily recognized was this lovely, native Oceanspray (Holodiscus discolor). In the courtyard where I work at Snell Hall there's an Abelia (non-native shrub) that has very fragrant blossoms and attracts Anna's Hummingbirds.
In the stairwell that has windows looking into the courtyard, you can see the part of a roof of the floor below. In the part that has permanent shade, there's a robust collection of Pixie Cup lichen (Cladonia pyxidia).
