Reports on sporadic MathJax CDN problems

Hi,

We have received sporadic reports about DNS resolution issues for cdn.mathjax.org (and also www.mathjax.org). So far, the problems seem erratic which make them hard to track.

It may be due to specific regional DNS servers but we've contacted CloudFlare to see if there's anything we can do. We will let you know when we hear more.

Do let us know if you or your users have trouble accessing our CDN from certain locations.

Hi,

Just a short update. CloudFlare has confirmed that some of their DNS servers are under attack. They are working on mitigating the resulting problems.

We will keep you update as we hear more.

Hi,

I've also experienced regular problems with DNS resolution of cdn.mathjax.org and www.mathjax.org. I get the following message in Chrome's JavaScript console:

http://cdn.mathjax.org/mathjax/latest/MathJax.js?config=TeX-AMS_HTML-full Failed to load resource: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

I use math.stackexchange.com and instead of formulas I see $ signs. It has happened almost every day since about a week, but sometimes the formulas come back for a while.

I really hope that this can be resolved (!) soon :)

Hi,

That's the expected error, I'm afraid. We'll update this thread as soon as we hear from CloudFlare that the attack has been mitigated.

MathJax.org is down for me all afternoon.

MathJax rendering fails in chrome probably for same reason. But rendering works fine in firefox and ie.
