Manipulate interactive sliders

One feature of Mathematica that I find really useful are the interactive sliders provided by the Manipulate command ( http://reference.wolfram.com/mathematica/tutorial/IntroductionToManipulate.html ). Sage implements something similar with its @interact command ( http://wiki.sagemath.org/interact). I wonder whether it would be feasible to lift that interact code out of Sage and use it to implement the Manipulate command in Mathics.
