I'm reposting these instructions here for the benefit of those who haven't been keeping up with the KS and IGG Updates.

1. Download the latest version of the MapForge from here, if you have not done so already.

2. Launch MapForge and wait for the “Welcome to MapForge” message to show, indicating that the app is ready for use.

3. Open the "Window" menu (which appears when your mouse cursor is near the top edge of the map window) and select "License". A small License panel will open.

4. Click on the "Claim Purchased License" button on the License panel. This should open your default email client and generate a pre-filled email containing your computer's unique Challenge Code.

4A. If this fails to happen (expected, on some Windows systems, especially those that use webmail exclusively), click instead on the text field that displays your Challenge Code. This will copy the Challenge Code to your clipboard, so that you can paste it into an email to me, and thus avoid the possibility of typos in your submitted code.

5. I will email you a Response Code that is specific to your computer. Copy and paste this Response Code into the "Response Code" field of the MapForge's License panel, and then press the "Unlock" button, which will install/activate your license.

You should receive your software's activation code/s shortly after I have received your Challenge Code. I will also send you download links and registration codes for any Add-Ons you purchased or got as a Stretch Goal reward.

I sent my challenge code on April 1.  Are you still working through a backlog, or did it get lost in the shuffle?

Your email apparently fell into a very, very deep crack. But I just fished it out. Expect your codes in a few minutes.

Don't forget to use the "Claim from Server" option, so you can avoid manually entering in 40 or so registration codes.

What's the email address we send it to?

Email it here. I'll see if I can edit the OP to include that.

Ok, some updates.  Was previously running v1.0 and found the following while working on Mac OS High Sierra:

1.  Cannot paste in to registration response code field for app license (not add on).  Had to type code by hand which worked.
2.  Cannot type AT ALL in the space provided for email when trying to download addon reg codes.

Downloaded latest from website.  Says it's v1.0.2, but about pane still shows v1.0.1

3.  Didn't try response code field because... well, I've already registered.  But may be something to look at if you didn't explicitly fix it in 1.0.1 or later.
4.  Can type in addon reg field now.  Clicking on "claim from server" doesn't appear to do anything.

I did attempt to claim the add on codes PRIOR to installing them.  Don't ask me why, but I thought maybe I could do it without first installing the add ons.  I then went back, downloaded the add ons and moved the cxt files to the add ons directory and restarted MapForge.  It shows an unregistered add on in the top right, so it's obviously finding them, but the "claim from server" noted in #4 above still persists.  Tried restarting MapForge in between and still no luck.

Good thing you have a unique last name. I couldn't find you with the email address you provided (it should've been the comcast one).

Robb, regarding #4, two reasons why it might not do anything.
1. If you used a different email address than the one registered with Kickstarter.
2. If you had already manually registered ALL the Add-Ons.

Claiming reg codes is independent of having them installed. Having them registered but not installed won't give you access to their contents, nor will having them installed but not registered. You CAN register Add-Ons that aren't installed. They'll just be immediately accessible whenever you DO install them.

Just verified the email address through kickstarter.  It's the one I'm submitting.  I had never installed any of the licenses before yesterday, add on or otherwise.  Not sure where to go from here.

Now I'm confused. Yesterday, you said:
"1.  Cannot paste in to registration response code field for app license (not add on).  Had to type code by hand which worked."
and
"3.  Didn't try response code field because... well, I've already registered."

In the event that you need to "wipe" existing registration codes to start fresh and do a "Claim from Server", this KS Update explains how to do that.

Some folks have been known to confuse a license code (which goes in the License panel) with Add-On registration codes (which go in the Add-On Registration panel). Doesn't sound like that's your case, just mentioning it as something for people to be aware of.

I tested the "Claim from Server" function, and it seems to be working just fine from the new MapForge server.

You're missing which versions I did each operation in.

In v1.0, copy and paste is broken for the application license response code, so I had to input it by hand.  Inputting by hand worked.

In version 1.0.1 I don't know if copy and paste is still broken because I had already typed in by hand in v1.0

Both of the above deal with the application license challenge / response.  It is informational only.

Now for add on codes...

I haven't tried entering them by hand at any previous point in time.  I'm trying to provide you with feedback about the stability of the app in version 1.0.2 when trying to claim them from the server.  If I try claim from server, using the correct email address, nothing happens.  The files in the directory you referenced above are:

Display.txt License.txt Updates.txt

That's it.  No Add-ons.txt  I have never registered an add on, so we can eliminate that from possible causes.  For whatever reason, clicking claim from server does... nothing.  No dialog, no error, no feedback... nothing.

Additionally, the About page still lists v1.0.1 even though the DMG says it's 1.0.2.  I downloaded that fresh from the website yesterday, so it is not a "stale" copy of the DMG.

Hope some of this proves to be useful.  If you'd prefer I can type in the 39 codes by hand.  It won't expose any issues that others may have and is simply kicking the can down the road, but at least then I'll have my licenses for the add ons.

Let me know if you want to continue trying to troubleshoot this or if I should just manually register all the codes.

I assume you've typed the email address in all lowercase? With no leading or trailing spaces from a copy/paste operation?

Be aware that all versions of MapForge share certain preferences files (e.g, things like a license file, or Add-On registration codes, are shared between app versions), so doing something in v1.0 CAN have an effect when you run, say, v1.0.2.

If you want to register a couple of Add-Ons manually, just because you're curious to see the content, that shouldn't be a problem. I just want to avoid you having to type in 40 codes. And I want the feature to work for you as it does for me. An example of how this should work: if you register 2 of the 40 Add-Ons manually, when you eventually get the "Claim from Server" working, it will register the remaining 38, rather than 40 Add-Ons.

I'm in no particular hurry.  I just know you don't have many OSX testers.

I did install previous versions, but never registered anything.  I never had much opportunity to do any testing, so I just kept installing updates as they came out and basically doing nothing with them.

Should we start with a fresh install maybe?  Delete the MapForge directory and all prefs for MapForge under the Application Support folder?

Let me know how you want to tackle this.

I was able to register the addons with version 1.0.3.

Great.

I recently learned that MapForge is still looking for reg codes on the original/old server, not the new server. I will fix that in the next release. However, I have now set up almost everyone's data on both servers.

I am having to ask for another license for some reason so I just sent my challenge code to your email. If I click on the link in the program to send the challenge code it just opens a blank web page.

I received my response code. I entered it and clicked unlock as the instructions indicate. But when I restart the program I get the pop up that I have an unlicensed version. Even when I check the license section it indicates "Unlicensed".

Are you running as admin, as indicated? It sounds like MapForge isn't able to write the license file (a plain text prefs file) to your hard drive.

Also, you just requested a new license code but the Challenge Code you sent me was exactly the same as the first code you sent me. It hasn't changed, so you shouldn't need a new license code.
