I finally received my replacement parts from Makerbot. Unfortunately, I'm getting this error mid-print now (image attached). When checking the service log, I get the following info:

2013-04-16 10:29:20,733 - CRITICAL - internal error
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\MakerBot\MakerWare\virtualenv\lib\site-packages\conveyor-2.0.0-py2.7.egg\conveyor\error.py", line 271, in guard
    code = func()
  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\MakerBot\MakerWare\virtualenv\lib\site-packages\conveyor-2.0.0-py2.7.egg\conveyor\server\__init__.py", line 522, in func
    self._jsonrpc.run()
  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\MakerBot\MakerWare\virtualenv\lib\site-packages\conveyor-2.0.0-py2.7.egg\conveyor\jsonrpc.py", line 197, in run
    data = self._infp_reader.read()
  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\MakerBot\MakerWare\virtualenv\lib\codecs.py", line 471, in read
    newdata = self.stream.read()
  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\MakerBot\MakerWare\virtualenv\lib\site-packages\conveyor-2.0.0-py2.7.egg\conveyor\connection.py", line 283, in read
    data = self._socket.recv(4096)

Has anyone else received this error / found a fix?

Thanks...

Do you get an error if you convert to X3G and print from SD card?

I haven't attempted that. I'll give it a shot.

Thanks

I've had this a few time, I think it's a communication error with bot. I also found after that error, I had to stop and restart the service like 5 time to get it to find the bot again

After restarting my PC a few times, it finally went away. No real explanation as to what the cause was. Just a "malfunction in the junction", as my grandfather would say.

So the moral to the story is:  Print from SD Card.  One less mode of failure to worry about...

No kidding. I've never been confident in the USB connectivity of the makerbots. Learned my lesson on the TOM.
Plus it totally sucks that the model has to reslice.
