Weather:
Mostly-cloudy to overcast skies allowed for scattered glimpses of the sun.
The wind was out of the south, light to start before gaining strength and
an easterly component a couple of hours into the count. The temperature
quickly peaked at 60F, then fell to the low 50s over the course of the
afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
Migrant numbers were on the rise for the first half of the day, then
abruptly fell away in the afternoon with the increasing wind and cloud
cover.  Even the local Turkey Vultures kept a low profile late in the day.
The only migrant in the final hour was an immature Northern Harrier
drifting low over the hawkwatch.

Non-raptor Observations:
Diversity was better at the hawkwatch today than for most of the week, with
41 species observed. The first White-throated Sparrow at at the summit this
year kept to the pines, while warblers and blackbirds trickled north in the
morning.

Predictions:
According to weather underground, "it will not seem like a nice day"
tomorrow . The wind will be increasing out of the NW, temperatures will be
falling from the upper 50s, and scattered showers could keep feeding in
from the system moving through tonight. It doesn't look like the weather
will be bad enough to keep the count from happening, and a few birds could
be determined enough to move, especially if we stay on the dryer side.
