Anyone else had issues with E updates causing corrupted profile
configuration settings? I've had numerous users having issues with their
ibar settings after installing some E updates, it does not happen
consistently or too all users though.

Sometimes resetting the efreet cache takes care of the issue, but other
times it requires clearing out the user .e directory entirely and having
them reconfigure their desktop.

It seems there has been some changes to efreet.

You don't need to reconfigure ~/.e Try to do the following:
1. Remove ~/.cache/efreet

2. Run
/usr/lib/efreet/efreet_desktop_cache_create -d /usr/share/applications
~/.local/share/applications
/usr/lib/efreet/efreet_icon_cache_create -d /usr/share/icons ~/.icons -e
.png .svg .jpg .xpm

3. Restart e17

As I mentioned clearing efreet cache only sometimes resolves the issue.

Hello,

after installing the svn versions, half of the modules appear twice in
the settings dialog. Clicking on one of the icons module crashed E.
After re-login, half of the ibar icons were gone. I did the efreet stuff
mentioned by Rasterman, but it showed no efect. After re-setting the
icons, no further problems appeared with the ibar for several logins.
Modules still show up twice, though I couldn't find parallel
installations or configurations. They work normal but tend to crash
E. Hints welcomed!

Best wishes,
Dennis Heuer <dh-mail...@online.de>

Wipe out your current E config (or move it to a backup) and try with a fresh
one).

actually you dont need to do that. what you are seeing is the result of an old
e installation. many of e17's modules were "rationalized". that means 2, 3 or 4
modules were rolled into 1. so that means you have the old separated modules
still installed alongside the new "integrated" ones. BOTH the old separated
modules provide the settings icons as well as the new integrated ones, and both
are still loaded in your config, thus the duplicates. the old ones will also be
built against an older e17 thus structures internally changed and thus you'll
get crashes.

what you should do is:
1. rm -rf /usr/local/lib/enlightenment
(or wherever you installed enlightenment - /usr/local is the default)
2. just re-run "make install" on e itself and then restart enlightenment (from
e's menu, ctrl+alt+end etc.)

e will complain about missing modules and if you want to unload them. just say
"yes" to all. :)
