I've designed a pair of boards that allow me to control an AC ceiling fan. One can be used standalone along with any digital/relay interface (one for each of possibly 4 speeds). The other adapts to 0-10VDC control.
Both have been built and tested with Loxone and a Hunter ceiling fan (120V). I intend to install them on DIN rails near my panel. Hopefully the long wires to the fans will not adversely affect it!
There is an article here. The boards can be ordered directly from OSHPark.

I've designed a reimplementation of this onto a single board that fits in a DIN box. It also adds the possibility of being able to reverse the fan direction (depending on situation).
It's been tested with 100' of romex with no observed impact.
The article is here. Board can be ordered from OSHPark.
