Hi All,
I am reasonably new to this but wanted to reach out the community to see if there was any interest in a permanent opportunity at a well establish publishing client of RecWorks.
Salary: £50,000-60,000 (Dependent on experience)
Type: Permanent
Location:London - Central
I am currently working with a publishing organisation that produce the most
comprehensive independent pharmaceutical information in the world.
They are in the process of in-housing a large scale customer
facing greenfield web development project. The project will involve the completely new development of data centric
web applications written purely in Scala using the Play! framework. The team is reasonably new to Scala and all come from a Java development backgrounds. They are essentially looking for developers (ideally but not limited to) from a Java background that are looking to break into the commercial Scala world. They are looking to hire
a couple of Developers at a mixture of experience levels with demonstrable Scala experience (i.e.
commercial project / personal project / courses / training etc). You do not need to be a Scala guru although commercial experience is going to be a big bonus.
You would
be joining a mature agile team, code quality and best
practices are important to them and they achieve this through the use of Continuous Delivery, Pair Programming, TDD
and BDD.
The Scala/Java Developer will:
• Be Strong with Java and related web technologies
• Have experience with XML technologies (XQuery, XSLT)
• Have demonstrable personal or commercial experience with Scala
• Be an advocate of clean code and agile methodologies
This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to expand on, and utilise their Scala programming experience
If this looks interesting and you would like to learn more about this opportunity please do ping me an email for some more details - "tp AT recworks.co.uk"
