We are looking for a senior engineer to work on our ad-serving platform, which delivers personalised, dynamic adverts for 1,000s of requests per second.

This is primarily a backend server role involving real-time, low-latency web services as well as offline big-data analytics. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong grounding in computer science and specialising in JVM technologies.

Our core ad-serving platform is written in java but in the last year we have started implementing a number of projects in Scala. In particular we have moved our entire analytics stack over to the Scalding framework and implemented a new Scala/Play ad-server for serving adverts on Facebook.

We also offer the chance to experiment with some exciting new NoSql technologies including Couchbase, Redis and Hadoop.

We have a small, but highly focused development team with a flat hierarchy and we follow a Kanban style of continuous development. All developers contribute across the full stack of the development process from design to testing, implementation and release.

Most importantly, we are looking for a someone who understands the importance of software craftsmanship and can deliver clean, efficient and well-documented code in a range of languages as appropriate to the task at hand.
