Hi
I'll be happy to run an introductory class on how to use the hackspace brother industrial sewing machine. This would be for a group of around 6 people, on Monday the 28th of April, 7pm. I hope to cover the basics of how to thread and use the machine and produce some basic stitches.
Please let me know if you're interested in attending or have any further questions.
Cheers
Joanna

Hi Joanna,

Thanks for running this, awesomeness.

Sadly I can't make this date but I hope you do it again in the future :-)

Could I sign up for this? I know how to use normal sewing machines but overheard someone explaining that this one has brakes (!) and I'd like to sew a heavyduty canvas messenger bag eventually.

Definitely +1 on this, but unfortunately not that day as I'm not free.
Please run it again!

Can I join this one? I've used the normal machines but the big one is a bit daunting.

Thanks Joanna.

I would love to attend this one, but I am away on that date too. Any chance to run it again at a later date?

Cheers,
Antonio

Thanks a lot for the interest and putting the event in the calendar :)
For this Monday I have confirmed:
Akki, Ian, Sarah, David, Antonio.
Lets see how it goes this time and then I'll see if we can set up another session for those that cannot make it.
(Monday evenings will be best for me but if you cannot make Mondays because of other class suggest other day and i'll try to run another one)

Slightly unrelated, but spotted this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-silent-digital-energy-saving-servo-motor-for-industrial-sewing-machine-3-4hp-/141258206913?pt=UK_CraftsCollect_SewingMachines_RL&hash=item20e3a52ec1

I think it'd allow variable speed control?
