https://github.com/lojban/freq will download the latest corpus info
from http://www.lojban.org/corpus/ , generate a word frequency list,
and present it in the format you specify using ERB templates.
Enjoy.

I just ran "./run_docker.sh -t templates/anki_gismu.erb -o test.out" and got
"[sudo] password for phma:". Why does it need root privileges? Or is it trying
to run as the nonexistent user "docker"?

My system uses sudo to run docker; if you're able to run docker
without root on your system, by all means edit the script.

I'm not even sure that the docker package is the same docker you're talking
about. The description is:

I'm running Ubuntu Xenial. There are lots of packages with "docker" in their
names, but none is installed. Which should I install?

This is what docker refers to these days: https://www.docker.com/

Sorry I hadn't seen this.

I installed docker-ce and tried again. Now I get this:

<snip long list of similar errors that overflowed Konsole>
chcon: no se puede aplicar contexto parcial al fichero sin etiquetar
'update_datafiles.sh'
chcon: no se puede aplicar contexto parcial al fichero sin etiquetar '.'
Sending build context to Docker daemon 57.09 MB
Step 1/15 : FROM rlpowell/fedora_base
repository rlpowell/fedora_base not found: does not exist or no pull access
Docker build failed.

I also see a device called "docker0", with address 172.17.0.1, when I run
ifconfig. What's that?

I'm curious why freq even needs docker. It looks like it's a ruby
script and some shell scripts? Couldn't we just use those natively
in our own OS?

Sure; feel free. Docker is how I abstract out complicated-ish
toolchains these days, but there's nothing stopping you from reverse
engineering it from the Dockerfile.
