About the the iPhone app that I wrote. (Does anyone use it?) I don't actually own an iPhone.. Which made testing the app hard, as you probably have noticed there are bugs ect. I was just wondering if there was someone with an iPhone 5 that I could work with to get the app working with the new iPhone, and get screenshots of the correct resolution for the app store. (I got a polite email telling me to re-upload new screen shots.)

Regards,
Arran

Hi Arran,

I have the app on my old 4, haven't yet decided if I want to switch to a 5, but afaik if you download the latest SDK then the iPhone simulator will let you test on the new screen res.

Hope this helps,

Sweet! How often are the entries updated? Or does the app directly interface with the online version?

There's also an Android app.
I make heavy use of it.
(Thank you, Yoshikun!)

Maybe we should think about enumerating and promoting the apps on the tiki, I'm not sure where though.  I thought there were more Android apps than just the one?

The URL for Arran's iPhone app is http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lojban-dictionary/id497206602 btw.

I'm using GoldenDict app and it's pretty good. More features.

Updates? About.. Once.. Ever.. I don't really have an iPhone used the simulator and wrote the app to get some objective-c experience.

Ah right. Previously I had some difficulty getting screen shots from the simulator, I ended up spending a couple hours manipulating screenshots to actually work in the app store.

Does the app.. Actually work?

Just press cmd + shift + 4, then space, then left click on the simulator to take a screen snap, and then crop the image file now on the desktop to size.  Highly intuitive Mac workflows, can't beat them ;-)

And yes, the app works fine :-)  That's the beauty of the simulator being so close to the actual thing itself, you don't have to worry so much about the interactions with the huge array of device configurations and vendor and carrier cruft that other platforms suffer.
