Hey Lojbananas, we're attempting to develop a standardised test for rating proficiency in Lojban. We would like to have a rating system, much like the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and similar nationally sponsored language standards, to provide specific goals and targeted study for learners of the language. We hope that people will study together for specific test levels and this will provide more in-language communication with similar-level speakers.

However, we need a bit of community assistance. We need to discuss ideas for the formatting of these tests, including what sorts of grammar, vocabulary, and types of tests are included and for what levels they are included. Additionally, we need web designers and database engineers to help design the back-end of the system.

Suggestions are welcome in the comment box as always and people who are more interested can join the LBCK mailing list.

Thank you so much for your suggestions and assistance!

I'm dreaming of even more wonderful tests like DELE for German, TOEFL and IELTS for English.

They should include audio tasks, test of understanding written text etc.
May be we can find some test having free license.

I have a partially written database schema, PostgreSQL, MySQL, PHP, and
Apache, and have written a fairly big website/database application. That's not
the problem. What I need is someone to discuss how it should work with.

Huh? There isn't a Lojban proficiency test yet; that's what we're designing!

I mean we can find some free resources for such test and translate and adapt them for Lojban.

That's certainly a good idea. If you can find some tests like that, we'd be happy to look at the materials. Thank you for the suggestion.
