So it's occured to me that I have a very long list of programming
and programming-like (CLLv1.1) things that need to happen around
here.

Someone recently suggested the idea of a Lojban hackathon; that is,
a time period strictly devoted to that sort of thing, ideally in
person, but at least with real-time communication throughout.

1. Who might actually participate if we did that sort of thing?

2. If some of LogFest was like that, who's coming that might feel
annoyed/excluded?

I'm willing to participate, and knowing me, this is the most likely way to get anything like this out of me. :-P

I would try. I probably can't do it more than a day, but I would
really welcome such a thing to help clear my Lojban project backlog.

I'd certainly like to chip in as well.

I in particular would feel left out, but I could split off with some other people and do a different kind of workshop thing.

I'd like to participate in a Lojban hackathon; I wasn't able to get
to LogFest this year and I think it would be a good substitute for
that event for me.

I'd specifically like a day/weekend where we all meet on IRC and
support each other's personal work, find problems in common and
fix the ones that come in bite-sized pieces.

I'm working on the PEG parser, and Robin is working on the CLL.
There is a lot of social network activity of late as well as all
manner of projects pushing in multiple directions. Translation,
audio recording, writing, &c.

I consider our software infrastructure a bit of a mess, but I
consider the organization of Lojbanistan generally a bit of a mess,
so take that for what it's worth!

If we were going to have anything to specifically focus on, it would
be working with Robin on the CLL, hands down. He has a list of tasks
to get done, some of which he's burned out/blocked on.

Left to my own devices, I would continue my work of extracting
Lojbanic sentences out of the CLL and adding them to the test suite
for my parser. It's fairly rote and a good way to uncover bugs.

If I were going to point anywhere else, it would be dictionary work.
I don't know if anyone could succinctly summarize what needs doing
there, at least not in a manner that won't engenders a lot of
follow-up conversation. It's a project with a lot of history/
voices/needs, with just enough infrastructure to work well enough.

I mentioned on IRC a while back that I was, as a performance-addicted
Googler, dismayed by the sluggishness of jbovlaste. I might take that
on as a Lojban hackathon project. I understand Robin has ideas (and
possibly code?) for a new version, and I haven't moved forward on it
yet.

Whether I work on that or something else, I think a Lojban hackathon
would be good fun.

I don't know that this is possible for me anymore, as I now have
twin daughters that need taking care of, and taking a whole weekend
off would likely piss off the other family members. It depends on
the timing, and how slavishly people want me to be at the keyboard.

It is, I assure you. Mostly XSLT, but programming none the less.

And lots of CSS and LaTeX work, which while technically not
programming is pretty close.

The goal is a source document that can be used to produce just about
any output format, as opposed to the original, which was an ancient
version of Word.

The big projects I'd like to see are CLLv1.1 (described above, more
at https://github.com/dag/cll ), a new jbovlaste, a new glosser to
go with the new jbovlaste, and I'd really really like to see someone
take a serious crack at speech-to-text.

It most certainly is a programming project, rendering the book in a
variety of formats and otherwise modernizing (in a publishing sense)
the material.
