or to be more specific how would you solve the problem in this ad hoc sentence
"I love Plato but i love jetnu more".

{.i la plat se zmadu lo jetnu lo ni mi [whatever selbri is actually
appropriate: pendo, xendo, prami, something] ce'u}
or, with (slightly) less contrived syntax: {.i mi [that selbri] jai te
zmadu la plat lo jetnu}

This doesn't say that I love Plato at all, because I can love truth
more than something which I don't love. And I would use {la platon}
since it was his Greek name (Plato is Latin).
So I'd rather say {mi broda la platon i ku'i mi zmadu broda lo ka
jetnu} [{lo jetnu} is a true fact (du'u)]

You're right. We need to assert {broda} for Plato. I also wasn't aware
of his Greek name. Certainly, it's more appropriate.

That isn't a correct use of {ka} according to current usage, but was
more widely accepted in the past IIRC. Anyway, this is that same
problem that we encounter when trying to translate stuff like "love"
as a noun. What is love if not the event of someone loving someone
else? By that logic: what is the truth if not something being true?
Personally, I disapprove of the tanru {zmadu broda} but there's no
objective way to say that it's no good, not to mention that I don't
really feel like getting in to which reasons I have for disliking it.

Considering all that:
.i mi broda la. platon .e ku'i mau bo lo nu jetnu
