Here's a sample project showing how to create some classic effects with moving heads. The effects are: kicks, ballyhoo, stabs, fading pulse, random strobe, fireworks, line chase and rainbow. These are the effects described in the great book called "The Automated Lighting Programmer's Handbook"' by Brad Schiller.
Look at the notes in each grid for some insights. The sequencer grid is the one activating the effects one after another. To see the result, open a monitor for the layout grid.
There are 2 master grids and all effect grids are linked to those (select the duplicate link attribute layout when you want to create a new effect). This way, you can modify these 2 grids to update all effects at once with your own fixtures. You can also configure the pan and tilt range in the master grid and all position effects will be updated.
One workflow based on master grids is use it as a starting point (template) for your project. So you replace the fixtures, configure the attributes to fit what you need (pan/tilt, colors, max intensity, etc). Then unlink the grids when you need specific configuration for your project.
