Kurviger in Huawei (P10 auf EMUI 8) schaltet (sich) im Hintergrund ab

Im Huawei P10 wird Kurviger nach einer Weile abgeschaltet wenn der LockScren aktiv ist. Heute passierte es sogar während der Bildschirm aktv war.
Andere Navis (Google, Navigon, Sygic) laufen problemlos hinter dem Lock screen weiter.
Ob dies durch Huawei (Power Manger) passiert, oder durch ein GPS Problem kann ich nicht sagen.
Leider kann ich das Problem nicht lösen. Vielleicht kann ein anderer Huawei Nutzer helfen.

Folgende Schritte sollte man jedoch in jedem Fall erledigen, wenn man Kurviger auf dem Huawei (EMUI 8.0) nutzen möchte:

1) Einstellungen / Akku / starten : Dort Kurviger Pro manuell verwalten (alle Schalter auf "ein") [Ich habe auch GPS Status installiert u. auf "ein" geschaltet]
2) App Berechtigungen / Spezieller Zugriff / Akku-Optimierungen ignorieren : Dort "Alle Apps" anzeigen u. Kurviger (u. ggf GPS Status) als "zulässig" einschalten.

Ich denke diese Schritte sind notwendig - reichen jedoch nicht aus.

Wenn ein Huawei Nutzer mir weiterhelfen kann, bitte...

hast du mal probiert dein Gerät neu zu starten? Eventuell ist das ja eine Kombination aus Huawei Problem und es hat sich irgendwas aufgehängt, was sich durch einen Neustart lösen lässt.

Mir ist aufgefallen, dass alle anderen Navis die Systemeinstellungen verändern.

Diese Navis laufen auch in Hintergrund!

Das geht nur aus der App heraus. MSN sieht in Android unter Berechtigungen welche als die Systemeinstellungen ändern können.

Vieleicht ist das der Grund!

wie meinst du das? Kommt am Anfang eine Meldung (Popup) mit der Bitte die Systemeinstellungen selbst zu ändern oder werden diese wirklich automatisch geändert? Hat gestern alles geklappt bei der Probefahrt?

Gestern konnte ich nicht testen.
Aber tatsächlich hat mich cruiser gefragt ob er die Systemeinstellungen ändern darf.
Daraufhin habe ich geprüft welche Apps die Systemeinetellungen ändern dürfen. Da waren alle Navis dabei aber nich Kurviger.
Keine Ahnung was da geändert wird, aber vielleicht ist das eine Spur

Can we clarify what have been done so far?

As wiki mentions (and also Frank success with P10 Lite) need to make specific adjustments in Huawei settings in order to allow background apps to function properly.

This is due to the heavy modifications that Huawei makes to Android, breaking its normal use for apps (many resources online).

Popular apps could be included already in the "protected" list, that does not solve anything for the rest.

Obviously we cannot control device internals and should not confuse regular Android permissions with specific manufacturer UI.

Better search for OnePlus auto close of background apps.
Forums are full of users that have that problem with device doesn't let them use their background apps.

Kurviger ist the ONLY app, closed probably by the P10 power managment.

I tested 6 other navigators which work.

I dont understand the one plus issue.
P10 has an enhanced power manager which indeed closes inactive background app.
This leads to an rrcharge cycke of 1,5 days
However one can switch of power managment for selected apps. This is what i did.

But kurviger still dont keep running.
However, I run 5 other navi Apps which keep on running in the background, providet they are active there.

It is falso only blMe the phone, if other Apps managed to tackle this. And navigon is several years older then p10

I can review the Navigation in background and see if there are any available improvements to its behavior.

A bit difficult to cover all Android "modified distributions" at each device, since so far all tests work successfully.

But can always try to enhance it more. :)

The behaviour is still the same.

Hi there,

obviously I now can select in special permissions also kurviger app. This is now equal to the other navs.

Unfortunately after 15min kurviger vanishes.

I tested in the car. It say after approximately 15min "next exit left in 2km" then when the exit came, kurviger has become closed, i guessed, by huawei.

So thanks for developing and supporting. I guess another huawei user might find a solution somehow.

Hallo zusammen,
die Hinweise zu obigem Problem haben mir praktischerweise bei der Lösung eines anderen Problems geholfen. Bei mir (Huawei P8)hat sich Whatsapp nicht mehr gemeldet, aber dank eurer Tipps bezüglich der Abschaltung durch die Akkuschutzfunktion, geht's jetzt wieder. Da sieht man, dass das Forum hier klasse ist.
Allzeit gute Fahrt und die Linke zum Gruße

Unfortunately I had to reset my phone. I took the oportunity and install Kurviger early to test it. Unfortunately the behaviour is still the same on my phone.

Possibly I solved the problem, @ least I found another adjustment.
When switching the task view, all app window frames shows an open lock on top right side.
By closing the look it seems that killing the background app will be avoided.

I will test on my bike @ afternoon

This means, the developer might create a scheduled job, which is launched periodically!
Also müsste Kurviger alle 5 min. sagen, "hier bin ich" in einer weise, dass es den user nicht stört.
EMUX wäre so etwas möglich? Ich habe ja gelernt, das Huawei offensichtlich beratungsresitent ist und offensichtlich sind andere auch nicht viel besser.

Nur mal am Rande, ich finde die Akku Optimierung prima, aber wenn man bewußt über die Einstellung eine App aus der Optimierung herausnimmt, dann soll sie auch herausgenommen werden. So etwas geht garnicht.

thanks for asking the Huawei support about this. It's good to hear that they acknowledge the issue.

Regarding the documentation you send, Kurviger is executed as a foreground service, this can be seen from the notification that is shown in the notification bar when you move Kurviger to the background.

To cite from the Android developer documentation linked above:

"

A foreground service is a service that the user is actively aware of and isn't a candidate for the system to kill when low on memory. A foreground service must provide a notification for the status bar, which is placed under the Ongoing heading. This means that the notification cannot be dismissed unless the service is either stopped or removed from the foreground.

"

For example, a music player that plays music from a service should be set to run in the foreground, because the user is explicitly aware of its operation. The notification in the status bar might indicate the current song and allow the user to launch an activity to interact with the music player. This has been done according to the Android specification. I own an Android device that runs pure Android without manufacturer changes and the Kurviger app works exactly as intended.

Gestern, am 11.2.19 habe ich festgestellt, dass die neueste Kurviger Pro Version auf der aktuellen EMUI 8.0 des Huawei P10 läuft wie gewünscht. Man kann den Bildschirm ausschalten und Kurviger läuft weiter im Hintergrund.

Ich kann nicht sagen ob es an irgendeiner Version lag, aber seit gestern läuft alles.

Die Settings wurden während diverser Upgrades von EMUI nicht verändert (Vom Stromsparen ausschließen, TASK Lock etc.) von daher kann ich nicht sagen, woran es jetzt genau liegt aber alles ist gut!!!!

We have not changed anything related in the app lately, so seems that finally the manufacturer uses less Android modifications allowing it to run correctly.
