I don't really care. I'm only afraid, that "reboot" (and the like) will become meaningless in a couple of months or years.

I propose this Icon (I have the svgz version but I have attached a png 64x64 version and a screenshot of KeePassX compiled with that icon)

A friend of mine made it, Its licensed under LGPL3 (https://tldrlegal.com/license/gnu-lesser-general-public-license-v3-(lgpl-3)#summary)

Please post ideas, changes, and your opinion.

Holy shit I love it!

Brief thought in my head: to maintain the "x" component could we put a faint whisp of an x in the background of the key. I pictured the Xbox logo very thin in the background.

Although I love the simplicity of the key on the green.

This version (PNG 200x200) have the X in the background and a black border outside.

It looks really good and the border gives it a bit of a depth which is nice. Could you though lower a bit the X more down? I'd be like to see how it would like with the X being a big off center.

I love the dark gray border, but seeing the x on it now changes my opinion, I liked it much better with this the key on green. Would still be interested to see an off-center x though.

I too agree, it doesn't look very good with the X. Maybe the pointy edges are the problem. Could you try extending them all the way to the edges of the inner circle and remove the pointy parts?

I'm ok with you starting a PR for the name and icon switchover, its gonna be a doozy.

We don't have the Gimp/PSD file, we made directly the svg with Inkscape.
This is the source file

Please download and view it locally, as it appears that Google Drive totally messes up the resolution on the web preview. It is an SVG so you can zoom as much as you like.

To be honest I also like the version without the Χ better from a visual standpoint, but I also think that the new logo should have at least a small reference to the original KeePassX. I don't know, maybe the shadow of an X isn't the best idea, but I can't really think of something else. I'm a coder not an artist.

By me the reference are the green and the key that come from the KeePassX original logo.

Note also that most of the time the icon used is < 32x32 (tray-icon, etc..), It's so small that the X isn't visible at all.

Ok, fair point. So, unless someone else have a better idea, I also vote for the original version without the X.

The final name is KeePassXC - KeePass Cross-platform Community edition

And thez3ro's icon was chosen as the final icon.
