jQuery.jPlayer.2.6.0. zip will not install.

Hi,

I signed up to the jplayer google forum, and posted a question there, but have heard nothing. I also posted in wordpress and no replies.

I hope you can help me.

my question is -

I have tried a number of times to upload jQuery.jPlayer.2.6.0. ( http://jplayer.org/ ) and this is the message i get -

Installing Plugin from uploaded file: jQuery.jPlayer.2.6.0.zip

Installing the plugin…

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

Plugin install failed.

so what to do? why is this so?

I use wordpress 3.9.1 and Pinboard Theme. I have tried using a different theme and it's the same result. I use a Firefox browser.

I really would like to use this player.

Please let me know,

Just out of interest, I don't suppose you are just trying to upload the jplayer zip file you got from the jplayer site, directly into wordpress, are you?

In which case, that won't work - Wordpress needs Wordpress plugins :) Try something like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mp3-jplayer/

If you ARE using a plugin, let us know which one, but really the best place to get help for that would be the plugin author :)

yes jonathan, i do have a wordpress site. thanks for your reply !  and i was just going to ask that question - "i have a wordpress site and does jplayer work on wordpress? as its not in their list"

thats a pity it won't work in wordpress.....

i will get back to you re all the audio players i've been trying.

I had tried that simon ward MP3 player, but found it confusing (or maybe i just didnt give it the time to work it out..)

However, I managed to upload the Wolf JPlayer and that is not in the wordpress list of audio plugins.

So, if i can upload wolf jplayer to my wordpress and it works, why can't Jquery jplayer?


It would be good if the jquery jplayer uploaded to wordpress.


I finding it hard to find a good audio player for multiple playlists.
