Sorry for asking what is likely an obvious question.

Anybody know if a release date has been set or projected for 3.5?

Can't seem to find anything in the docs. If you could point me to the
docs or provide some insight it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Niv

You're welcome, Niv! :)

Small correction though. It will be in March of 2014. 3.1 was released a
month late, so I calculated wrong by a month too. Sorry about that!

Thus, 3.2 will be in September of 2013. 6 month later in March of 2014,
3.5 will be released. 6 months later in September of 2014, 4.0 will be
released.

Kind regards,
Nick

I'm always having trouble finding release dates on official channel, fortunatelly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joomla#Version_history is quite accurate.

I think I volunteered to assist on this and then dropped the ball - mea culpa!

Thanks for the links - I'm wondering why Wikipedia is the de facto
'authority' and not our Joomla! docs!

There are also other 'spaghetti web' issues that seem to be important,
for example, what versions of Bootstrap (and tied to that, as a result
jQuery) are we standardizing on? That is, if we are at all, and then
add in as result browser support policies (jQuery has a very
aggressive, forward looking Browser Support policy (i.e. dropping i.e.
8 - no pun intended), and the Boostrap Docs tells ya Boostrap relies
on the latest version of jQuery - interestingly - that was written
before the latest version of jQuery was released, and Bootstrap does
not spec a version #).

Whew! If you have managed to follow along...congrats!

All these seem to be 'grey' areas - what versions of which
software/lang/frameworks line up with which? This could get messy!

Thanks for the info and the links!!!

It should not be! I'll update the release date of 3.1 since we delayed it into the beginning of April.

Take care

Sorry Niv, I didn't take it that way nor mean to make you feel like I took it as a  knock. I'm just making a strong statement. I know it is hard to find info between all the sites. developer.joomla.org has some info too.

Take care

Tom

Hey, no, not at all. I just did a workshop on Bootstrap 2.x for the
JUGT and following it up with LESS.

This summer, I'm going to try to hack some design using the JUI
working on an ecommerce platform - and like that to be ready for the
3.5 release - so I have questions about being 'in-sync' with the right
versions to aim for.

I'm guessing that we'll be utilizing Bootstrap 2.x and jQuery 1.x for
the release of Joomla! 3.5 - I would prefer not to be 'outdated' on
release date.

Any guidance on the above would be much appreciated!

Hi Nick, I meant that I'm using wikipedia for release schedules. I just have to write in browser url bar 'wiki joomla'.
By the way, how do you feel about adding info about Bootstrap version to JVersion?

Hi Piotr,

Adding the Bootstrap version to JVersion sounds find to me. jQuery, jQuery
UI, and MooTools would be fine too.

Kind regards,
Nick
