Is anybody currently using or experimenting with 'Above The Fold' loading techniques via Joomla!/Bootstrap/jQuery/Ajax?

Any good documentation or resources - helpful hints or advice?

A description of the technique, which I'd like to learn and implement, is as follows:

1) Detect when an element is visible, or above the fold

2) If the element is above the fold, load it straight away

3) If not, delay the load for 'non-visible' items until later.

Any guidance on this would be most gratefully appreciated!

I'm seeing lots in the docs about placement of elements and optimal utilization of space above the fold, but nothing to do with detection and loading sequence.

Also, another 'nice to have' would be to delay the loading of specific elements based on their declared type (semantically speaking), so for example, an element with a class of 'advertisement' or 'banner' would be delayed until the loading of a pages more essential elements are loaded.

Thanks,

N
