Porting Component to Joomla 3

Hi, i want to inject a new life in my component and i want to port it from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.
Where can i find the guide lines for the development?

Making a 2.5 extension work in 3 is NOT complicated. Making it look good is a different issue.

I've been attempting to install various 2.5 extensions in 3 and some of the common issues I've seed are as simple as using DS which is no longer defined for you (just use a slash)  and still having 1.5 style manifests.
