I've gone through all the issues on the tracker and made sure they have the correct status (may have missed some) so if you are a JBS member please ensure that you update the status of an issue

Remember
Open - new issue with no pull request
Confirmed - confirmed issue with no pull request
Pending - issue with pull request
etc

I've also started to put issues into categories so  if you are a JBS member please ensure that you update the category of an issue. Unlike joomlacode an issue can be in multiple categories.

If you need new categories please let me know and I will create them

In the Search Tools, for the "-status-" dropdown, it contains the following categories:

Confirmed
Pending
Ready to Commit
Needs Review
Information Required

Shouldn't there also be an "Open" choice, so that we can view all Open issues? Also, shouldn't there also be a "Fixed" or "Closed" choice, so we can see what items have been Fixed/Closed?

Also, when I choose "Pending" from the dropdown, I also get a number of "Open" issues as well.

Yes and we have an open bug report on that so it should be fixed soon

That one confused me as well but if you switch the big filter from open to closed then you see the closed/fixed ones

Aha! You are right. I was so used to seeing it the other way in the prior system, I didn't realize the change. Many thanks.

You are correct that it wasn't working a little while ago, but it is working now. Many thanks.

Hi Dmitry,

I see that the "Open" option is now listed. Many thanks!

When I choose the "Open" option, not only do I get Open issues, I also get Pending issues. In fact, if I choose "Confirmed", for example, I still get a list of Open and Pending issues. I'm using a standard distribution of the most recent version of Firefox on Windows.

Hi Thomas!

This due to the fact that not all issues are marked with some of the special status that it is different from "open". When an issue is created it has the default "open" status unless someone from the JBS team will not change it.

Brian, can you please clarify then?

Dmitry,

No matter which option I choose (Open, Confirmed, Pending, Ready to Commit, Needs Review, Information Required), I get the same listing of all of the issues.

Open - new issue with no pull request
Confirmed - confirmed issue with no pull request
Pending - issue with pull request
etc

But open is showing ALL items open according to github and not just the open items according to our own status
(same for closed)

I'm not sure if "open" is really a good word for the "non-confirmed issues without PRs". Maybe it makes sense to have a separate status for the "not-confirmed" ones with a different (new) word.
So we could use the "Open/Close" buttons as general filters exactly like on GitHub (showing all open ones). And have a separate status which only shows unconfirmed issues.

I know and it worked fine in JC. Together with GitHub it now conflicts a bit with the states (Open/Close) from them. If we can find a good word, it could reduce confusion.

OK how about "Unconfirmed or New"

This means that we will need the jissues bot to apply that status whenever an issue is opened AND no status is applied at that time

Closed is less important and I dont think needs to be changed

I think "New" is better: "Unconfirmed" may also be interpreted as "Cannot reproduce"

Dmitry, thank you for all of your hard work on this.

I agree that "New" would be better than "Open". What about "New, Not Yet Confirmed"?

It's rather verbose.  I think New works just fine, to me I look at something marked "New" and consider it something that hasn't been reviewed nor has any code attached for testing.

I'd also just use "New" to keep it short and simple. Only thing is that the "new" label could be on a rather old issue if nobody ever looked at it. But it may help trick people into looking at it, so it's a good thing anyway :-D
