Digital Consultant - International Campaign

BuzzMaker is a Democratic political consulting firm specializing in eCampaign management, online advertising and international campaigns. Our clients include gubernatorial campaigns, U.S. Senate campaigns, international political parties and advocacy organizations.

We are seeking a digital consultant to serve as a jack-of-all-trades digital director on an international political campaign for a short term project. The initial engagement will run from late October through mid-December, with a possible extension beginning in January 2016. The consultant is expected to be on the ground with the client for the entirety of the engagement.

The digital consultant will be responsible for running all online operations for the campaign including social media for the national profiles, managing a team of volunteers who will handle local campaign social media operations, managing all aspects of email marketing, persuasion, acquisition and GOTV digital advertising, upkeep on the campaign website and text/mobile campaigning. The consultant will have video, design and audio talent support from a team on the ground with the client.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency writing, editing and proofreading advocacy and mobilization emails;
  • Email coding experience. You should know the quirks involved with coding an email and be able to explain them if asked;
  • Experience with Google Apps, NGP VAN, Salsa, NationBuilder, ExactTarget, and/or ActionKit;
  • Experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine or Joomla (We use Drupal – so if you know that, it’s a plus);
  • Knowledge of how to use, analyze, and communicate digital analytics including Google Analytics, online advertising and email performance statistics;
  • Political Savvy: A qualified candidate will know what actions can be effective in the political arena and how to drive people to take those actions. A passion for international politics is a must;
  • Experience implementing digital advertising campaigns for both persuasion and acquisition;
  • Campaign Lifestyle: You should be able to work flexible hours and work directly with clients in high stress situations;
  • Willingness to work overseas. You must have a valid passport.

The successful applicant will be paid as an independent contractor at a weekly rate agreed to in advance. They will also be provided with roundtrip airfare to the destination, secure, first world accommodation, access to a vehicle and driver, and a daily per diem to cover all incurred expenses.
