We are expanding our campaigns and growing our capacity at Corporate Accountability International and are looking for a talented Assistant to the Development Director to support the organization’s expanded fundraising. The Assistant to the Development Director will manage the Development Director’s schedule, logistics, communication and collaboration with all units across the organization and drive development-unit wide projects.  This is a great position for someone who is passionate about challenging corporate abuse and a tenacious fundraiser.  This position is a lot of work, requires strong attention to detail and will be exposed to all different aspects of a membership powered non-profit’s development team.

Assistant to the Development Director

As the Assistant to the Development Director, you will work in close partnership with the Development Director to fuel organizational expansion and ensure that Corporate Accountability International is a high-impact, membership-powered force for social change. Corporate Accountability International’s development team builds relationships with individuals and foundations to raise the funds necessary to run our organization’s lifesaving campaigns and, in this role, you will be key to working with and building a growing, vibrant, membership-powered development shop. Day to day, you will play a lead role with the development team by: maintaining the Development Director’s schedule and logistics to help her maximize her time; managing development projects; facilitating communication across the department and with other departments; and participating in direct fundraising. Through this work, you will give the organization even greater capacity to challenge corporate abuses which threaten people’s health, the environment, human rights, and our democracy.

Major Responsibilities:

·         Schedule management and preparation: Manage the Development Director’s scheduling and calendar. Provide oversight of the preparation of all materials for the Development Director’s schedule including travel, fundraising, and correspondence.

 

·         Project manage development programs: Ensure all development programs have the systems and support needed to meet and exceed goals. Organize special projects with and for the Development Director. Support and develop reporting and tracking systems and generate analysis and reports.

 

·         Facilitate internal communications within development and across the organization: Schedule and prepare materials and agendas for department meetings, including taking and distributing notes and ensuring next steps are communicated and implemented. Communicate to staff across the organization on behalf of the Development Director as needed. Generate and compile resources and materials needed by fundraisers for meetings with philanthropic partners. Draft fundraising updates.

 

·         Fundraising and external communications: Serve as a liaison and representative to key philanthropic partners. Play a lead role in Corporate Accountability International’s all-staff fundraising drives.

 

·         Participate in organization-wide planning, recruitment, and campaign activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

      Demonstrated commitment to social justice and progressive social change.

      At least two years of professional nonprofit experience including a background in fundraising and campaigns.

      Experience with grassroots fundraising and enthusiasm for building an organization.

      Experience managing and juggling diverse tasks and projects with minimal supervision.

      Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience handling confidential matters.

      Creative and tenacious problem-solver with experience in organizing others to accomplish projects.

      Organized and diligent with record-keeping and administration.

      Talented with Excel and database systems; strong facility with numbers and analysis.
