The Ohio Democratic Party is seeking a qualified tracker for a competitive U.S. Senate election. Trackers are responsible for attending and recording opponent’s speeches, town halls, and other events. Trackers work closely with the research and communications departments to hold the opponent accountable for their record.
Applicants should have good political judgment and the ability to stay calm in challenging environments. Applicants must have a driver’s license and car and be willing to relocate to Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities
 Monitor news clips, blogs, state and county websites, campaign activist websites and other sources in order to find opponents’ schedule of public appearances;
 Attend and film all events attended by opponents;
 Transcribe all audio and video footage collected during public events;
 Write daily event reports detailing each event attended by opponents. Reports will include a description of the event purpose and venue, summary of the event, attendees and audience, and key points discussed by the opponent in his or her remarks; and
 Help with other research tasks as needed.
Qualifications
 Valid driver’s license and car required;
 Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment with composure;
 Willingness to work weekend hours and drive across the state on short notice;  Strong attention to detail;  Previous video editing or filming experience a definite plus but not required; and  Previous political experience a plus but not required.
