Field Organizers Needed for Top-Tier Coordinated Campaign in Arkansas

Field Organizer (FO), Democratic Party of Arkansas, Coordinated Campaign 

Job Description:

The DPA Coordinated Campaign is seeking Field Organizers for the 2014 election cycle. FOs will work to maintain and grow our grassroots movement to reelect Senator Mark Pryor and elect former Congressman Mike Ross as Governor, as well as elect democrats up and down the ticket.

 

Arkansas is one of the most important states in the 2014 cycle. It is the only state with both a top-tier Senate and a top tier gubernatorial race, and organizations nationwide are going to be looking to ensure that the home state of President Bill Clinton is in play for the Democrats. The country is watching Arkansas closely in 2014, and the campaign staff that chooses to be this race will be the infrastructure for politics in 2016.

Responsibilities:

• Implement state field plan in assigned turf

• Assume ultimate responsibility for meeting voter registration and voter contact goals in assigned turf

• Develop relationships with key players, allied organizations, and existing team structure

• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to establish multiple teams in assigned turf

• Plan and implement voter registration events with volunteers

 

Qualifications:

• Candidates with previous organizing experience a plus

• Candidates must have a desire to learn and a willingness to receive feedback

• Candidates must have the ability to communicate with diverse communities and leaders

• Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work long hours (including nights and weekends)

• Candidates must be goal oriented

• Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously

• Candidates must have a strong commitment to the overall goals of the Democratic Party of Arkansas
