               Senior Digital Strategist (DC)


At Break Something our clients are using digital media to change the world, so we need to enlist a mighty pen to lead a team responsible for bringing their campaign goals to life. Our ideal candidate is a senior writer with political, marketing, and election-cycle experience. Someone who has the ability to capture the voice of our diverse clients and their myriad campaigns is comfortable leading others while working within multiple, simultaneous tight deadlines and is dedicated to helping Democratic candidates and progressive nonprofits achieve success engaging the hearts and minds of their targets and constituents. This person will be responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of fundraising or engagement programs and should feel these things are second-nature.


This position requires a high degree of organization, time management, motivation, attention to detail, and an ability to pivot toward competing priorities. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and strategic collaboration skills are a must. This person will lead and implement the digital strategy for a few of our great candidates and organizations gearing up for tough elections or organizations doing the kind of work that makes you eager to get started in the morning. The ideal candidate will have either led or been an important part of a digital operation previously. You’ve led or helped raised a lot of money as part of an email program and have familiarity with direct response advertising campaigns as well.



RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Articulating your vision for the digital program to the client in full, producing results, and functioning as the client lead, keeping the client updated on our progress
  • Managing the calendar and running marketing campaigns designed to mobilize supporters
  • Writing the majority of the marketing content, with production support
  • Working with teams to develop and implement direct response marketing campaigns


        REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of digital experience minimum
  • Experience leading teams for a reasonable-size campaign or organization
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including writing, planning, and executing tests and report results for online campaigns
  • Experience as part of a team running direct response advertising programs with a focus on donations and email acquisition.
  • Proven results managing CRMs like Blue State Digital, NGP, ActBlue, and ActionKit is very important.
  • Experience leading social media campaigns, and managing integrations between digital and field
