Communications Assistant

 

Seeking full-time Communications Assistant in a competitive Democratic Congressional campaign. Communications Assistant will be responsible for media monitoring and assisting communications team with social media and communications, including staffing events, reviewing and posting video content through various channels, and other tasks as assigned. Applicants with prior campaign, issue advocacy or communication experience preferred. Applicants must be able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They must also possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. The willingness to work extended hours and weekends is also required. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring social media, traditional media outlets, community events and identifying messaging opportunities for the campaign
  • Assisting communications team with content development and distribution across a range of communications platforms
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and in team settings
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, work environment
  • Good computer literacy and social media skills
  • One year of campaign, issue advocacy or community organizing experience preferred but not necessary
  • Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license

Compensation: Competitive salary, based on experience.
