RESULTS Educational Fund is seeking two (2) REAL Change Election Fellows in New Hampshire. These Fellows will assist with the organization's global health and global education advocacy work leading up to the 2015 Democratic and Republican presidential primaries.

Position description

The REAL Change Election Fellows will conduct direct outreach to presidential candidates, working with existing local RESULTS volunteers and/or recruiting new volunteers to engage political candidates. This Fellowship is offered on a a six-month contract basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Track the schedules of presidential candidates and engage them at public events, such as town halls and meet-and-greets
  • Educate candidates on key RESULTS global policy issues, including maternal & child health and access to education.
  • Secure commitments from candidates on these issues.
  • Recruit and train volunteers to engage with candidates
  • Where applicable, work with existing RESULTS groups to build relationships with candidates
  • In conjunction with the RESULTS Grassroots Expansion team, cultivate a permanent RESULTS presence in new areas.
  • Attend the 2015 RESULTS international Conference held July 18-22 in Washington, DC. (Airfare and hotel subsidized by RESULTS.)
  • Attend one weekend training (exact date and location TBD) during the first two weeks of August. (Airfare, hotel, and meals subsidized by RESULTS.)

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • At least one year of professional organizing experience.
  • Current residency in NH or past experience working in this state and a willingness to relocate for a six-month period
  • Passion for creating change and fighting global poverty
  • Flexible schedule that allows facetime with candidates at strategic moments throughout the campaign
  • A driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle on a reliable basis.

This Fellowships was designed to be flexible around a student or professional schedule. Compensation will be determined based on experience and specific deliverables. Preference will be given to applicants willing to take on both the "REAL Change Election Fellowship" and the "REAL Change Organizing and Advocacy Fellowship".
