Finance Director needed for progressive candidate running in open NY metro area seat

A young, dynamic progressive Democratic candidate for US House is seeking a skilled Finance Director for a primary campaign in the metro New York area. The Finance Director is responsible for raising the money and establishing relationships that will allow the campaign to accomplish its goals. The Finance Director works closely with the candidate, campaign manager, and a finance committee to meet the financial goals of the campaign. The Finance Director is in charge of keeping the candidate and campaign on track with fundraising, preparing for and staffing call time, and overseeing fundraising events. 

Responsibilities include:

Fundraising

Develop fundraising plan and strategy

Organize and staff candidate call time.

Edit and prepare copy for event invitations and some internet appeals.

Plan fundraising events, including recruiting hosts and finance committee, printing and mailing invitations, soliciting and acknowledging donors.

Manage the research plan to expand donor base.

Management

Manage and motivate volunteers and potentially other fundraising staff.

Manage finance committee, plan and execute a fundraising events program and calendar, and manage the relevant staff member.

Coordinate candidate’s fundraising schedule.

Oversee all performance metrics and optimize for success.

Compile and share performance metrics with the team.

Compliance

Supervise daily check collection, deposit, and data entry.

Ensure that all campaign activities, including those of candidate, surrogates, staff, consultants, and volunteers, are in full compliance with the law.

Review FEC reports before they are filed.

You should:

Be highly organized, have great attention to detail, be self-motivated, have access to a car, and be willing to work a campaign schedule (maybe some travel and irregular hours)

Be experienced in raising money for a campaign

Have excellent communication skills, both within the organization and to the public

Have fluency in NGP, ActBlue, Excel, and other campaign software
