Job Description


Background: Colorado Families First is a newly formed campaign, made up of a growing coalition of community, faith and labor partners, with the goal of passing paid family and medical leave at the ballot in 2020. Equipped with strong public support, an engaged grassroots, and a solid funding base, we are well positioned to qualify for the ballot and win a much-needed policy for hard-working Colorado families. If successful, our initiative will make sure that 2.8 million Coloradans never have to choose between paying their bills and taking care of themselves or a seriously ill parent, spouse, or child.


Overview of the Role: The Campaign Manager works in consultation with the Steering Committee and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the campaign including day-to-day operations, the hiring and management of staff, the coordination and implementation of fundraising efforts, and creating and managing the campaign plan and budget. 


Expectations for Campaign Manager:


  • Draft and execute comprehensive campaign plan and budget

  • Build and manage the campaign staff, including facilitating the selection process of other consultants the campaign committee seeks to engage 

  • Develop internal communication schedule of calls, updates, and reports to the Steering Committee and key stakeholders that ensure members are well-positioned to make big picture budgetary and strategic decisions 

  • Provide ongoing evaluation and accountability to the signature collection process, ensuring that vendors are working toward necessary timeline, budget and benchmarks that benefit the campaign

  • Manage the staff and consultant team to ensure strategic objectives are achieved

  • Manage consultant team to create comprehensive and data-informed paid communications and voter contact program

  • Manage Steering Committee, Advisory Committee and Coalition to maximize engagement of members/constituents in support of initiative

  • Coordinate with compliance team to ensure proper processing and reporting of contributions and expenditures

  • Work with the Steering Committee to secure additional financial commitments 

  • Work with campaign counsel to ensure compliance and monitor challenges to signatures during qualification
