Deputy Press Secretary

 

John Hickenlooper is running for President because we are in a crisis of division that is threatening the fabric of our democracy and because he has a proven record of bringing people together to tackle difficult challenges and achieve real progressive change.

 

The Hickenlooper 2020 campaign is seeking a Deputy Press Secretary who will be responsible for supporting the work of the senior members of the press team and managing the work of the press assistant and Communications-related volunteers. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

      Drafting press materials including but not limited to interview briefs, advisories, internal reports and press releases.

      Assisting with large communications projects, including but not limited to debate prep

      Overseeing the press assistant and any communications-focused volunteers

      Maintaining the organizational backbone of the department and developing new organizational processes as needed

      Coordinating interview and event media logistics.

      Assisting with press clips, as needed

      Some minimal staffing of the Governor on trips or events

 

What We’re Looking For:

      Experience working as a paid staffer in a press office on a campaign or in government

      A highly-organized self-starter with attention to detail

      Passionate about working to elect the next president of the United States
