The Manager, Advertising Operations leads a team of advertising operations (ad ops) strategists in the successful implementation of advertising programs across a robust set of list growth, direct donate, persuasion and mobilization campaigns on behalf of Democratic candidates and progressive organizations.

This position is salaried starting at $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing a team of 2-4 ad ops specialists responsible for implementing all paid communications programs in the full suite of advertising platforms
  • Maintaining a seamless process for implementing ad programs under tight deadlines and ensuring the highest levels of quality control
  • Overseeing a high-volume list acquisition and list rental program, managing the implementation of direct response and direct donate advertising in platforms and through 3rd part list rental vendors
  • Overseeing high impact persuasion and mobilization programs for Democratic candidates and organizations
  • Designing and overseeing a state-of-the-art ad testing program 
  • Having your finger on the pulse of emerging media buying tactics and knowing immediately how to implement them for our clients
  • Managing vendor relationships as they relate to our core media buying platforms and list growth partners
  • Overseeing a robust reporting schedule, leading ad ops and data specialists in producing internal and external reports on a daily basis 
  • Working directly with our financial team to reconcile advertising invoices and payments
  • Raising new technical ideas and needs for better ad implementation -- and help see them through to completion, working with our in-house development team
  • Hiring and training staff

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working in an ad operations, or similar, role
  • 1-2 cycles of political experience preferred
  • Comfortable managing direct reports and delegating tasks to them efficiently and effectively
  • Significant experience with Google Ads, DoubleClick (DV360), Trade Desk, and Facebook Business Manager
  • Some experience with Snapchat and Twitter Ads, as well as managed services like YouTube reservations, Hulu, Pandora and Spotify
  • Extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Proficient with excel and complex data tasks, like working with pivot tables
  • Can learn new skills in a fast-paced political setting and is always looking for the next greatest tactic to expand our media buying program
  • Can commute to our office in the heart of the U Street Corridor, and is comfortable working a-typical hours (on both nights and weekends) leading up to key election dates
