Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW) is a 50-year-old women's
employment organization that works nationally and in its home community of
Washington, D.C. to achieve economic independence and equality of opportunity
for women, girls, and their families. WOW is recognized nationally for its
advocacy, research, and training models. WOW has been a national leader in
promoting women's increased participation in nontraditional occupations for the
last half century, supporting more than 100 public agencies, community
organizations and job training programs through technical assistance, policy
recommendations, institutes and resource manuals and toolkits.
WOW's recently launched National Center for Women’s Employment Equity (NCWEE)
includes the Opportunities for Women in Nontraditional Employment (OWNE)
Initiative, technical assistance provision to workforce development agencies,
community colleges and industry partners, and advocacy with policymakers to
promote women’s economic equity . Through the OWNE Initiative, WOW, working
with partners in 18 cities across the country, works to increase women's
enrollment in and graduation from training programs that lead to placement in
high-wage, high-skill occupations in male-dominated industries. This national
project will train hundreds of low-income women for jobs and career pathways in
construction, manufacturing, transportation, and technology that will help them
achieve long-term economic security.
The NCWEE Program Associate will provide ongoing support to the
projects outlined above and provide assistance to related policy and advocacy
initiatives undertaken by WOW.
Specific Duties
· Support the development of technical assistance materials and resources for OWNE sub-grantees and partners, including case studies, policy briefs, toolkits and presentations.
· Create and share ongoing information about OWNE and WOW's expertise on issues facing women in the workplace through print and social media.
· Sustain collaborative relationships and regular communications with sub-grantees and partners, including producing regular updates for partners and allies, updating and maintaining the NCWEE's section of the WOW website, and creating social networking and web-based resources to share and promote program materials and linkages.
· Manage data collection and track partners' performance deliverables and timelines;
· Coordinate conference planning for annual and semi-annual Center convenings for grant partners and coalition partners.
· Provide administrative support that includes organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, assembling data and preparing reports, and logistical duties related to learning institutes and conferences.

Provide support for expanding and maintaining
the Center’s work through proposal development, grant management and evaluation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Competitive candidates will have:
· A minimum of a bachelor's degree, with 2-5 years related work experience working for the public sector or an advocacy-focused organization;
· Awareness/knowledge of policies related to gender equity in the workforce;
· Excellent research, written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly in writing designed for a range of audiences;
· Superior organizational skills and attention to detail;
· The ability to handle multiple projects under deadline with precision and accuracy;
· Knowledge of and demonstrable experience using basic Office programs and social media outlets such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; and
· A demonstrated commitment to WOW's mission in expanding economic opportunities for low-income populations.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position. WOW offers competitive compensation that includes a generous benefit package including health care benefits.
